What are CPVC pipes and fittings?

CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) is a robust, long-lasting polymer that has been utilised in plumbing applications for more than 50 years all over the world. CPVC is a thermoplastic created by chlorinating polyvinyl chloride resin further. This involves two carbon atoms linked together, two hydrogen atoms, and two chlorine atoms connected to this double carbon unit. This molecule joins together with others to produce CPVC polymer chains.

1) Resistance to chlorine

CPVC is inherently resistant to the effects of chlorine and chlorine dioxide, which are commonly used to disinfect drinking water. CPVC is protected by massive chlorine molecules rather than the hydrogen molecules surrounding the backbone of conventional polymers. As a result, extensive exposure to chlorinated water will have little to no effect on the pipe in corrosion.


2) Mechanical Strength
